Wound Care

At Associates in Vascular Care, we are able to provide comprehensive care by treating the wound care patient’s circulatory issues, whether arterial or venous, while providing expert wound care using the most up to date treatment modalities in concert. Our wound care specialist Lori Boyle, APN, stays abreast of the latest in wound and vascular care maintaining active membership and continuing education through the Association for the Advancement in Wound Care and the Society for Vascular Nurses. She is proficient in treating many common types of wounds including:

  • Venous Stasis Ulcers

  • Arterial Ulcers

  • Diabetic Foot Ulcers

She also has extensive experience treating pressure ulcers, calciphylaxis wounds, lipodermatosclerosis and atypical wounds.

Compression Garments and Devices

Chronic uncontrolled leg swelling whether due to venous disease or lymphedema is lifestyle limiting, painful, and can lead to further complications including ulcers and infection. Finding the appropriate type of compression that is both effective and user friendly is challenging. Often patients are perceived to be non-compliant when, in fact, they have not been exposed to the variety of modalities available. Maintaining adequate compression after a venous stasis ulcer is healed is essential for controlling swelling and prolonging the ulcer free interval. At AVC we are proud to offer the following.

  • Proper measuring for off the shelf compression hose. We maintain an assorted stock in house for the convenience of our patients

  • Detailed measuring and ordering of custom hose for difficult to fit or atypical shaped limbs

  • Fitting and ordering of specialty compression garments such as velcro wraps

  • Evaluation for pneumatic compression pumps for long term management of swelling

About Lori Boyle, MSN, APN, CWS

Lori has been a wound care specialist for more than 16 years, the last six, as an Advanced Practitioner. She holds multiple board certifications in wound care and stays abreast of the latest in wound care and vascular medicine as a member of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care, and the Society for Vascular Nurses.

Since becoming a part of Associates in Vascular Care with Dr. Owano Pennycooke, it has been her goal to ensure that the residents of Monmouth County have the care they need for their wounds and long term vascular management across the continuum. From office, to home, to hospital, to skilled nursing facility.
